Elizabeth Cooper
Unit Coordinator, Extension Agent, Agriculture and Natural Resources
Elizabeth Cooper is a native of Surry County, VA where she grew up on her family’s farm where they raise corn, soybeans, wheat, and beef cattle. Elizabeth graduated from Virginia Tech in 2019 with a B.S. in Agribusiness and a minor in Crop and Soil Sciences before going back and completing her M.S. in Agriculture and Life Sciences with a focus in Plant Science and Pest Management in 2022. Her graduate research work consisted of trials on the chemical management of three-cornered alfalfa hopper in soybeans. Elizabeth began her career with Virginia Cooperative Extension in June of 2019 as the Agriculture and Natural Resources Agent for the City of Suffolk before transferring to the Surry/Sussex ANR position in January of 2023.
